2017-06-30 Fifth Annual Meeting with key clients and organizations from the nuclear field entitled: Engineering Support for I&C Systems at NPPs. Decommissioning of Nuclear Facilities. Challenges and Solutions

The Fifth Annual Meeting with key clients organized by EnergoService was conducted on June 22nd and 23rd, 2017, in Riu Pravets Resort. Due to the big interest and following the participants’ suggestions the presented areas were broadened.

For another year, the company invited representatives of its Bulgarian and international partners in the nuclear field, providing the opportunity for all parties to exchange experience and to familiarize with the new products and services in the area of nuclear automation, safety and radiation protection. The meeting was attended by sixty five representatives from different organizations including Bulgarian Agency for Atomic Regulation, USA Embassy, Kozloduy NPP, Kozloduy NPP – New Build, ATP – Atomtoploproekt, Bulgarian Metrology Institute, Bulgarian Nuclear Society, Enpro Consult, State Enterprise ‘Radioactive Waste’, EQE Bulgaria, Mirion Technologies, MATE-FIN, Oskar-EL, Land Forces, Technical University, Risk Engineering, Westinghouse Energy Systems Bulgaria.

Dominique Comte who is the Sales Manager of Radiation Monitoring Systems for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mirion Technologies, France, and Günter Fischer – the Regional Director of Sensing Systems, Mirion Technologies, Germany, arrived especially for the meeting.

On the first day, Dominique Comte presented the software controlling the different components of the radiation systems monitoring produced by Mirion Technologies. Günter Fischer reviewed the surveillance technologies during decommissioning of nuclear facilities. The representative of MATE-FIN, Romania, shared their experience in the integration of systems for radiation monitoring in Cernavodă NPP. The EnergoService Technical Director shared the experience of the company’s engineers in the implementation of projects and realized solutions based on Miron Technologies equipment. Finally, the representatives of HACH, Bulgaria, made a presentation on innovative solutions for water analysis.

The second day the meeting continued with the presentation of Westinghouse Energy Systems Bulgaria on the plans for Ovation I&CS lifetime extension at Kozloduy NPP, which was followed by the presentations of EQE Bulgaria and Kozloduy NPP – New Build.

During the final discussion the participants expressed their hope for finalizing the decision for the construction of a new nuclear facility, thus helping to preserve the engineering expertise and experience in the area of safe, reliable and profitable operation of nuclear facilities.
